The executive producers of the series were Aaron Spelling and Danny Thomas. 《逮捕令》是Studio Deen制作、改编自藤岛康介的原作同名漫画的动画作品。1994年至1995年间制作、发行的4卷OVA。因为作品广受好评，于是1996年开始制作续集电视动画，于1996年10月5日至1997年9月27日在TBS播出，全51集，其中先前的OVA的前4集放送。 之后又制作了特别篇动画、剧场版动画、第2期&第3期的电视动画为其续作。
