In Thierry's living room, several people have gathered. None of them know each other but they are all there to try and fulfil the same dream. They want to find a job... and quickly. But we're in Brussels, so nothing goes quite as planned.

May Day! is a feature-length documentary which follows Oxford's thousand-year old tradition of May Morning, the largest celebration of its kind, regularly attracting over 15,000 people each year. It is a collage-like portrait of the tradition, attempting to find out how the celebration has survived the separation between the land and its people, what the pagan festival means thousands of years after its inception, and how it shapes and contributes to our nation's sense of self.

May Day follows 16-year-old Gemma on a birthday that she spends with herself. After allowing herself to feel, she leaves her room to enter a house that she is not familiar with. Following the sound of chatter through the house, she finds herself in a celebration of a 26th birthday: her own 26th birthday. By observing herself in the future, she then confronts who she is and what she becomes. The short answer, loved. Returning to her 16th birthday, Gemma allows herself to feel, to feel happy.

12 strangers, 14 days, no electricity, no phones, for an immersive retreat. After ten years in Germany, Armin returns to Bosnia. He just got married and wants to surprise his father, but he is not home. Neighbours say that he has been arrested, nobody knows why. The papers say that he is a suspect for the war crime back in the 90s. Armin wants to learn the truth and the neighbourhood to celebrate May Labor Day.

Immediately after liberation, an incident called 'Jeju Uprising' took place on Jeju Island, the Hawaii of Korea, under the control of the US military government. As a result, about one-tenth of the total population of the island at that time was sacrificed. The children who survived the massacre record the memories of that day in an animated film 70 years later.

Delivery man Hyun-soo has to go pick up his daughter by 5 o’clock after work. However, the elevator in the apartment, the last delivery destination, is broken. hyeon-soo has no place to leave the parcel, so he goes up the stairs with a heavy load.

On May 12th, Deng Shengyin from Beichuan was working outside. When he heard the news, his wife Zhu Xiaorong, who was in the county seat, had fortunately escaped the disaster, but the child who had just gone to school never returned. This film records the living condition of Zhu Xiaorong's family in Beichuan for more than a year after the disaster.

"Workers Rise up Against War" a banner proclaims, as crowds gather in central London on May Day 1932. After marching to Hyde Park and listening to speeches from (among others) communist leader Harry Pollitt, the marchers head to the Japanese Embassy in Portman Square to protest against Japan's attitude towards China.

On May 1st, unions all over Japan celebrate May Day, the international day for workers. Workers gather together at parks and hold demonstrations and parades. May Day has its origins in a strike that occurred in the United States on May 1, 1886, a strike that called for an eight-hour workday. Prokino recorded the May Day every year from 1927 to 1932. Among these films, this work is the only one that has survived. However, only its first part has survived. The original film depicts the march to the Ueno Park where the rally was dismissed. Iwasaki Akira coordinated the entire Tokyo Prokino organization as it photographed the 1931 May Day celebrations. They shot in both 16mm and 35mm (other 35mm productions were planned, but this is the only one that achieved completion). A 16mm print was circulated around the countryside by mobile projection units, and a 35mm print was shown at Soviet film nights in Tokyo and Osaka.
